摘要:
      自100多年前达尔文时代开始,被子植物的起源和早期演化一直是关注的焦点。距今约1.7亿年前的早侏罗世南京花的发现为破解达尔文的“讨厌之谜”提供了重要契机,引起了国内外的广泛关注。南京花的化石产地是南京栖霞区西岗街道乌龟山的一采石场,因不断采石,大量珍贵的化石资源遭到了极大的破坏。通过总结回顾南京花发现的重要意义及其化石产地的现状,并结合古生物化石保护和利用的理论和实践得出:南京花是迄今发现的最早的被子植物化石,对破解被子植物的起源和早期演化的达尔文的“讨厌之谜”具有重要意义;南京花化石产地一直处于采石过程中,化石资源的破坏十分严重,急需进行保护;相关政府部门与科研机构需通力协作,更好地保护和利用这一重要自然遗产。

Abstract:
      Since the Darwinian era, more than 100 years ago, the origin and early evolution of angiosperms have been the study focus. The discovery of the early Jurassic (about 170 million years ago) Nanjinganthus provides an important opportunity to solve this Darwin′s ″abominable mystery″, which has attracted widespread attention from domestic and international media and academia. The fossil site of Nanjinganthusis a quarry in Wuguishan, Xigang Street, Qixia District, Nanjing. Due to continuous quarrying, the rich and precious fossil resources have been greatly damaged. This article summarizes the important significance of the discovery of Nanjinganthus and the status of its fossil site, combined with the theory and practice of the conservation and utilization of fossils. It is concluded that Nanjinganthusis the earliest angiosperm fossil discovered so far, which is of great significance to the origin of the angiosperm and the solution of Darwin′s ″annoying mystery″. The fossil site of Nanjinganthushas been quarryed and the fossil resources have been seriously depleted, so it is in urgent need of conservation. Local government departments should cooperate with scientific research institutions to better protect and use this important natural heritage. 
